Simmer supply is a device that strikes and maintains low-current discharge in the flashlamp in order to increase its lifetime and operation stability.

SCA-2008 simmer supply is powered from 230 V AC mains. It includes all necessary circuits not only for maintaining of low-current discharge, but also for simmer ignition as well: a gas discharger for high voltage and high energy trigger pulse production and an auxiliary 1400 V open-circuit voltage supply. Ignition transformer is not included in SCA-2008 and sold separately.

Simmer current can be adjusted from 300 to 800 mA with on-board potentiometer. In case of current interruption, automatic simmer ignition restrikes with approximately 3 Hz repetition rate, until the discharge is restored.

The simmer supply can be used in laser systems with serial or external triggering without any changes.
