Capacitor (bank) capacitance: uF
Voltage: V
Frequency: Hz
Pulse energy is: J
Average output power is: W

A power supply for a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser or similar system flashlamp consists of a high-voltage DC charging supply (for example, PCA-series), an energy-storage relatively small capacitor bank (typical value is 100 uF), a thyristor-based discharge circuit (for ex., NBU-1508 discharge circuit), and an external inductor. The power supply utilizes complete discharge of the capacitor and forms short (tens to hundreds of microseconds) bell-shaped pulses on a flashlamp and provides simmer current during the interval between pulses.
